Simplex map: who hears who

Each month's simplex test produces a set of reception reports: for a given session, which stations each operator could hear directly, and how readable they were. This grid puts them together. Read a row as "this station, listening" and a column as "this station, transmitting." A cell shows how well the row station heard the column station.

Lines connect stations that heard each other. Stations without a reported position are not on the map, but they still appear in the grid below.

Legend

Line color: how readable the station was

R5 R4 R3 R2 R1 R5 perfectly readable, down to R1 unreadable.

Line style: which direction was heard

Solid: both stations heard each other. Colored by the weaker of the two directions.
Dashed: heard in one direction only.
No line: neither station heard the other.

Markers and grid

A station at a position its operator reported, labeled with its callsign.
Dashed halo and a ~ after the callsign: approximate position, worked out from a place name in the drill log or the operator's FCC-registered address rather than reported by them. The station is somewhere in that area, not necessarily on the dot.

The grid below uses the same colors: NH means not heard, and a blank cell means no report was filed for that pair.
